By Angel Dudley

For those that are looking for that last of the year outing before the weather gets cold and backpacking seems to be on the agenda, take a look at the following best backpacking trips for a not only end of the season event, but an unforgettable experience. Backpacking is a great way to see nature, the great outdoors, observe a tranquil waterfall. The soar of an eagle, or simply get away from the hustle and bustle of city life can also be experienced.

One of America's favorites is the Appalachian Trails. This magnificent trail cuts through 14 states of natural beauty. From Georgia to Maine these mountains rise and fall in a magnificent display of beauty and nature that most will never experience. While most will never have the time or inclination to rough it through fourteen states, they might have the time and inclination for one of nature's most perfect scenes in New Hampshire, at the peak of the mountain. Or try Maine's wilderness and beauty.

The west and all its beauty is a must see at the Continental Divide in Colorado. Its trails reach over 8,000 ft, and it is also home to the Glacier National Park, and Gray's Peak. It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and one that won't soon be forgotten.

For those with a spine for adventure Uinta might hold experiences untold. Its High Line Trail is for the rough tumbler, and those who want to test survival skills. It's one of Utah's best trails and those with a skill for adventure will admire that fact this mountain is well known for bolts of lightning in high places. Travelers will find few places to take shelter on this mountain, so using natural skills is a must.

It also has trails that stretch past 75 miles of tranquil waters. Its views are tranquil. King's peak is Utah's highest point.

Another picturesque scene of wonder and amazement is in Montana. It is one of the most popular places for travelers. Fishing and photography are a must in this scenic wonderland. It is well worth the trip. The type of serenity to be had in Montana is indescribable, and unforgettable.

Another scenic nature experience is the Shenandoah Valley in the east. Northern Virginia offers one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Fall of the year. Make sure to pack a camera for this trip, as its beauty if next to none. The Blue Ridge Mountains also offer some of the best trails in the United States.

Last but not least is the Grand Cannon. The natural beauty of this place is next to none. It is one of the wonders of the world and once travelers have experienced the scenic display here, there is no more wondering why. It is one of the best backpacking trips available, but it also calls for planning ahead. Travelers will need a permit to wonder on the trails, and that means a four month wait for approval. It is well worth the wait, however, and travelers will find the experience of a lifetime, and one they will never forget, so plan ahead and discover the Grand Cannon.
