Understand The Real Meaning Of Christmas With Christmas Cards

By Alaric Sowerby

I'm used to giving and receiving presents every Christmas. However, I'd like to make it much simpler yet far more special this coming Christmas. Oftentimes we do not realize the real essence of Christmas. Each time I head to malls during the busy holiday week, I watch men and women walking around holding grocery bags or buying a set of Christmas cards.

I'm wondering if people we give gifts to really value the things we give them. I'm prompting this question since I am actually guilty of simply stacking presents someplace and never giving them a second look after getting them. Definitely, I show people how appreciative I am, yet I just want to have it different this time.

My plan is actually to give out individualized Christmas cards that are not really costly if you simply allow your creative mind accomplish the work. I do not mind make use of unused greeting cards last year. If ever you've got a few of them, I urge you to make use of them.

I'm really not into sending greeting cards in the past but I believe everything is about to change this Christmas because I figured out that I am spending too much, giving stuff to people, most of whom are not really happy with the things they receive. I feel the same way though when somebody gives me big tees or coffee mugs or hats that I could not use at all.

I have also found out that there is a much better way to use cash this Christmas. Giving to charitable organisations might simply be an alternative. I think an individual does not have to be a millionaire to donate to charity. The amount I spend to buy stuff for everyone may be best spent for donations. I suppose my close friends will understand and most of them won't mind as well.

Devoting time with my loved ones will be perfect. I failed to have quality time with them last Holiday season because I was more busy with gathering friends and hanging out that I can't actually remember if I had slept in my room. Most of my friends pay a visit to their hometowns yet not necessarily to hang out with their family. What about making a change this Christmas?

Find more time for your family this particular Christmas. Participate in the putting up of your Christmas tree, I find it really fun. In addition, be part of preparing food for the Christmas dinner. This thing, too, is fun.

I forgot to treat mom and dad a year ago. I'll perhaps go with them to a spa or have dinner with their company somewhere. I don't think material gifts will be the memorable ones. At times, the time you spend with your loved ones are far more cherished.

There's no problem with ignoring the tradition. If you think it's time to transform things, do so. In my case, I would still buy a few Christmas greeting cards as there are a number of people who'd be really happy to receive one.
